STEP BY STEP

When Jacob Rohner founded his sock company in 1930 in the small town of Balgach in the Swiss Rhine Valley, he had a revolutionary idea in mind. He wanted to create a sock that would stand out for its performance, comfort, quality and design. An essential companion for the most demanding conditions and activities. Using circular knitting machines, the finest natural materials and with an attention to detail that only the Swiss could perfect, ROHNER broke new ground and exceeded all expectations for a sock.

MADE IN EUROPE

Environmentally friendly and fair production is very important to us. That is why over 95% of our products are now manufactured in Europe. With our main site in Portugal, we can keep production routes as short as possible and avoid long supply chains. This enables us to work quickly and efficiently and reduce CO2 emissions by shortening transportation routes. We maintain an exceptionally good and trusting relationship with our suppliers and manufacturers. We greatly appreciate this direct contact, as it simplifies communication enormously.

OUR VISION: TRADITION & TRANSPARENCY

We are the legacy of years of research and development of a single product: socks. At first glance, a trivial and forgotten item of clothing. But at second glance, socks are the key to our health and our daily activities. That's why we follow Jacob Rohner's vision and offer our customers the best possible product and constantly develop new technologies.

THE HIGHEST STANDARD

We have entered into partnerships with leading manufacturers in Portugal in order to develop and produce the best socks for you. In 2018, we invested in our own production center in Barcelos, Portugal. Over 40 state-of-the-art Giavanni Busi machines were installed. This enables us to offer you the highest standard in textile products.

The factory is air-conditioned by an environmentally friendly humidification system - and the heat from our compressors is used for heating in winter. In Barceolos we apply the highest recycling standards and have full traceability of all our yarn and sock batches. Our production facility is a member of the BSCI and is regularly audited. You can find the complete audit here.
